Thanks for the suggestion will check the paths at the beginning. The crontab I was using is the system one (/etc/crontab) and I did try specifying the whole path to the program as well. The exact error message was "growisofs: not found". The command was “1 2 * * * root growisofs –dvd-compat –Z /dev/cd0a -R -J /home/bkup” Should I just use roots crontab rather then the system one?
