Hy, I just installed FreeBSD 5.2.1 on a Alpha DS20E server.
The installation was without problems. The problem comes when I try to compile the kernel. Following both the "traditional" or the "new" procedure I always gets the forrlowing error: ----- CUT CUT CUT ------------- awk -f /usr/src/sys/modules/linprocfs/../../conf/kmod_syms.awk linprocfs.kld /usr/src/sys/alpha/compile/SERVER/modules/usr/src/sys/modules/linprocfs/export_syms | xargs -J% objcopy % linprocfs.kld ld -Bshareable -d -warn-common -o linprocfs.ko linprocfs.kld ===> linux @ -> /usr/src/sys ln: @/sys: File exists *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/src/sys/modules/linux. *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/src/sys/modules. *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/src/sys/alpha/compile/SERVER. ----------- END END END ----------- The only reference to this problem I found in the web is an old mail from 09/30/2001 with the same problem was seen with reeBSD 4.4 RELEASE. However no solution was given. Does anyonwe knows how to solve this problem? I had no problem in building the kernel from the FreeBSD 5.2.1 release on a i386 compuer.
