/dev/sequencer missing - Midi support under 5.x

Searching the archives I found a previous thread 
(http://docs.freebsd.org/cgi/mid.cgi?3FA6C96D.3090502) talking about my 
problem.
Any progress on playing Midi files under 5.x ?     My card uses the 
snd_DS1 module.

Kmidi is complaining about a missing /dev/sequencer (which I don't have 
in my /dev).
