I had checked that out earlier. That's the reason I was so confused. I really have no idea what's going on and i haven't found anything in the errata/etc that says anything about Apache issues. I also tried using normal apache 1.3, as well as apachessl. both do the same thing. They configure fine but refuse to launch.
