What's the problem? $ ln -s $documentroot ~ But that's not the real answer. If you're using ftp, you're also transferring your password in the clear. After that, you don't need ssh to access the machine; you've already compromised yourself. I use rsync for this purpose. Here's the beginning of the script: #!/bin/sh # # Synchronize the web sites. # RSYNC_RSH=ssh export RSYNC_RSH echo +++ Transferring grog rsync -Lzav --exclude=RCS --exclude=private --exclude="*~" ~grog/public_html/* website:htdocs/www.lemis.com/grog echo +++ Transferring www.lemis.com cd /usr/local/www/data rsync -zLtuv --exclude=RCS --exclude="*~" --exclude=auug --exclude=bookmarks.html * website:htdocs/www.lemis.com Greg -- When replying to this message, please copy the original recipients.
