On my now-older computer (from July 2001, 256 MB RAM), svgalib ran on FreeBSD but was very crash-prone.
svgalib in Linux was erratic and caused color distortions when switching to an X window. So I decided I wanted no part of svgalib on the new computer, FreeBSD or Linux. Use ASCII art or framebuffer?
