It is always better to use gmirror instead of "hardware" RAID. One
have full control over what is going on
mmh not always. Nothing replaces a good hardware RAID card with a BBU
(battery backup unit).
now it's true that it's better to use gmirror in place of "cheap"/false
RAID cards ..
