I considered this but what I really need is something I can run purley from the command line "one shoot" like netstat (but without counter resetting problems)
Also, Googling for 'netflow freebsd' produces a lot of interesting looking pages.
I've had a quick look and that might be usefull, I still need to figure out how to get the data out in a form that's usefull to me but it has promise :)
