There's enough in the emacs sources to make it pretty clear that a failure to have emacs find the termcap functions would be a problem in the emacs port - emacs prefers -lncurses to -ltermcap unless it's being overridden.
Well, OK. Now we know that on FreeBSD that doesn't work, since there's an optional ncurses library that doesn't define the termcap functions. Do we fix it, or wave our hands and claim it's someone else's fault?
