The compat directory entry in root usually is a symlink to /usr/compat. It is created by sysinstall. /usr/src/usr.sbin/sysinstall/install.c around line 860: Mkdir("/usr/compat"); vsystem("ln -s usr/compat /compat"); So it should be there when you've been using sysinstall for system installation. If you've used a different tool (or "no tool"), it may be the reason why it is missing. -- Polytropon Magdeburg, Germany Happy FreeBSD user since 4.0 Andra moi ennepe, Mousa, ... _______________________________________________ freebsd-questions@freebsd.org mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-questions To unsubscribe, send any mail to "freebsd-questions-unsubscr...@freebsd.org"
