Oh, you mean that a "modern" desktop PC consumes as much power
as my old AS/400e with 10 hard disk drives - as loud a a common

Seriously? Or joking? How did you measure it? My 2 year old desktop uses 60-100 watts depending on how hard it's working. 10 disks and lots of noise must use a few watts, though size and weight wouldn't have that much influence per se :)
