Pretty much anything that you consider to be a reliable supplier will do. There are no specific FreeBSD requirements as far as I know. I recommend that you get a disk that is externally powered instead of with power supplied over USB. Earlier versions of FreeBSD had problems with USB connected devices. In particular if they were removed or powered down without dismounting, this could lead to a kernel panic. This problem has been fixed, but I still am extra careful with my USB backup disks: (1) Power for the back-up disks should be on a UPS (2) umount the file systems on the back-up disk when not in use.
