What's the currently recommended way to upgrade from XFree86 3.x to 4.x? I remember last year seeing recommendations to ininstall XFree86 3.x, uninstall all apps using X that you might have, delete /usr/X11R6/bin, and then install XFree86 4.x.

Is this still the recommended way to avoid problems, or can I just run portupgrade -pufRr XFree86?
