actually, it just occurred to me that there *is* a place just down the hill that buys/sells used computer stuff. "RE-PC" ... not to give them a plug or anything, but i had bought used cabling and a few things there. not sure that they'll built-to-order [used], but it's worth checking. my LAN volunteer suggested all Dell, HP, <>, but then he wasnt factoring in the reality that i can't swap-in/out parts myself. circa 2001 i had a local place build a bare-bones 750MHz server; it was A+, not even a hiccup. Good pt about checking the FBSD list. valuable resource. gary > Roland > -- > R.F.Smith http://www.xs4all.nl/~rsmith/ > [plain text _non-HTML_ PGP/GnuPG encrypted/signed email much appreciated] > pgp: 1A2B 477F 9970 BA3C 2914 B7CE 1277 EFB0 C321 A725 (KeyID: C321A725) -- Gary Kline [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.thought.org Public Service Unix http://jottings.thought.org http://transfinite.thought.org _______________________________________________ freebsd-questions@freebsd.org mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-questions To unsubscribe, send any mail to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]"
