find /tmp/kde-*/ -iname "*wav" -exec rm -vf {} \; to exec rm for each file individually, or: find /tmp/kde-*/ -iname "*wav" -exec rm -vf {} \+ to exec rm for multiple files at once. Piping to xargs in this case is unnecessary.
