Well, gentlemen, I may finally have a clue! The guy who set up my networking stuff and whatever database ports there are did not install mysql50-server. Just the -client side. This fellow is the salt-of-the-earth type, ETC, but evidently didn't get into phpbb or whatever I've been trying to do. The -server side is building on my serious antique Kayak now. My thanks to both you guys; the dev.mysql.com site is chock full of info and should give me a boost when I try again. gary > -- > Sahil Tandon <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> -- Gary Kline [EMAIL PROTECTED] www.thought.org Public Service Unix http://jottings.thought.org http://transfinite.thought.org _______________________________________________ freebsd-questions@freebsd.org mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-questions To unsubscribe, send any mail to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]"
