JN: Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately, hotkeys on Mac use the Apple button, not ALT so I don't think this applies but I will try to investigate if there is some conflict with ALT and Fusion itself. I can't find anything in Preferences that would lead me to believe that there is a conflict (I do know that normally you have to hit fn+alt/option unless you use an advanced tunable via your .vmx file).
Btw, I had this working at some point....hmmmm....I just thought of something...gonna try something else.
