I have read the man page, besides having also read a post that suggests WRKDIRPREFIX, but that really has NOT helped. As I said, I am at "etc" - end of thinking capacity ;) I read this: http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-ports/2006-November/036801.html I have done the following: mkdir -P ~wash/ports/firebird/usr && chown -R wash ~wash/ports/firebird cd /usr/ports/databases/firebird2-server make WRKDIRPREFIX=~wash/ports/firebird install I also added this line to /etc/make.conf: SU_CMD= /usr/local/bin/sudo /bin/sh -c .... and still no luck! What do you suppose I could be missing from the man page?
