I am successfully using vpnc that came with freebsd 6.1 able to connect
into cisco 3000 concentrator
all i had was vpnc.conf file

The port stands in security/vpnc, you should use it. It guess the
maintainer has tried it before updating the port and pushed the
appropriate patch into the ports tree.
