I have been using FreeBSD desktop since 5.1. I have three desktops, two have recently been upgraded with 6.1. I don't use java, so I can't tell you about that one. In the past I have used mozilla, then migrated over to firefox. I am currently using opera. I have used both KDE and Gnome, but I like something more light-weight, so I use Fluxbox. If you didn't like gnome, there others you could try. Just look in the /usr/ports/x11-wm/ directory. Perhaps it is the 6.2 that is giving you so much trouble. Why don't you give 6.1 a try. -- Alexander FreeBSD 6.0-RELEASE i386 _______________________________________________ freebsd-questions@freebsd.org mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-questions To unsubscribe, send any mail to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]"
