Hi, This is a good starting point for you: http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook/ppp-and-slip.html and /usr/share/examples/ppp I personally stay away from USB (ADSL) modems. I prefer the ones that connect through Ethernet and support half or full bridge mode. I hope this helps.
