Some time ago I posted about having 2d performance issues with Xorg, nvidia driver, and linux-opera. I haven't had much time lately to figure out what is going on but I finally found a solution/workaround yesterday.
The fix was to take device agp out of the kernel and use Option "NvAGP" "1" in the Xorg.conf file.
