I've done some more troubleshooting and some strange things have
appeared. First, the colo says there is NO proxy, and NO firewall in
front of this server.
I captured a misfire on both the server and on my freebsd gateway. The
two traffic flows don't seem to quite line up.

This is the very same transaction. I'm not an expert at TCP/IP, but it
looks like the server and the client are seeing things quite differently.
Any additional help in tracking down what is happening is greatly
appreciated.
