Hi, I have recently downloaded a .tgz file to an m.s XP machine then ftp'd it to my BSD laptop. When I try to open the file with tar or gunzip, I get the following; file.tgz : invalid compressed data--format violated. Is this due to the file being transfered from a NTFS? Pls cc me if you can help
