so, here's your answer! -2 would be 0xfffffffe in hexadecimal, and
4294967294 in decimal (10 digits). Here's where your insanely huge uid
comes from.
Thanks! However, isn't there a bug somewhere - either that nfs (can) create files with such high uids or that find(1) is still limited to 16-bit uids?
