Is it enough to configure Network, if I know IPv4 Adress, Netmask and
workgroup name?

Hello FreeBSD-questions,

I'm newbie to FreeBSD, and I have a question: how can I configure
FreeBSD for work in Windows workgroup? I know my IP, and the name of
the workgroup. Is it necessary to know anything else?

In what respect do you mean? Networking? Filesharing? Printer sharing?

In terms of networking... you will have to actually use preset or DHCP provided values as a lot of domain stuff used in Windows does NOT have functionality for other operating systems like FreeBSD, unless there is a DNS and DHCP server that's litigating whether or not you have a set hostname and can obtain an IP based on your PC's Mac Address. In terms of filesharing... do you need server or client type filesharing and (if you do use X), what is your desktop environment (KDE, Gnome, XFCE, etc)? Knowing your X setup may help determine what way to best help you out with Samba.
