Any help is much appreciated: I used the tcpdump in the freebsd box the freebox 192.168.1.6 is receiving the linux box 192.168.1.5 but why they can't ping each other! in freebsd box. ping 192.168.1.5 PING 192.168.1.5 (192.168.1.5): 56 data bytes ping: sendto: Host is down ping: sendto: Host is down but itself is fine ping 192.168.1.6 PING 192.168.1.6 (192.168.1.6): 56 data bytes 64 bytes from 192.168.1.6: icmp_seq=0 ttl=64 time=0.019 ms For the mac address of all vlans, it should be same as the parant interface. but I am new for it.
