Well, there is a [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list, with archives at http://docs.freebsd.org/mail/current/freebsd-firewire.html, http://docs.freebsd.org/mail/archive/2002/freebsd-firewire/ etc., and this little nugget in http://www.freebsd.org/news/status/report-july-2002-aug-2002.html: Firewire support has been imported into the main tree, and substantial cleanup of the ACPI/legacy PCI code is also in the works. So, the answer is "Yes". However, it looks like it's only officially in 5-CURRENT for the time being. You can download patches for 4.x if you're feeling adventurous.
