But then again, it is not in the base system (or ports). If it was up to 
me no daemons (big network daemons) would be in the base system (well no 
daemon for FTP, SMTP, but syslogd should be there as there is no good 
alternatives). But we have a ftpd in the base system (and sadly sendmail 
is also there), so why aren't there a mod_ssl for ftpd?

Bwt, what is the difference between SSL and TLS, and if I were to make a 
ftpd which one should I chose and where can I find a SSL/TLS programming 
tutorial.
