The handbook has a chapter about updating it. - Did you consider installing the binary version? # pkg_add -r mpg123 If this doesnt work: # /stand/sysinstall -> configure -> packages -> FTP (or FTP passive) -> Primary Site -> audio -> mpg123 - Did you consider using mpg321? It's kinda mpg123 clone, works fine for me.
