Bug ID: 205881 Summary: devel/py-pip: Add a warning against installing into system site-packages with pip! Product: Ports & Packages Version: Latest Hardware: Any OS: Any Status: New Keywords: needs-patch, needs-qa Severity: Affects Only Me Priority: --- Component: Individual Port(s) Assignee: pyt...@freebsd.org Reporter: vlad-f...@acheronmedia.com CC: pyt...@freebsd.org Blocks: 205819 Assignee: pyt...@freebsd.org Flags: maintainer-feedback?(pyt...@freebsd.org), maintainer-feedback?(pyt...@freebsd.org) CC: pyt...@freebsd.org If pip is used to install software into system's site-packages, python packages installed from ports later will conflict with that, if, for example, a common dependency has been previously installed with pip and later is pulled in through ports. Need to add a warning to pip not to install packages into system's site-packages, in form of a pkg-message.
