How you did to install OpenCV 3.1? I'm using OpenCV 3.1 but I installed using a patch from here https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=210505 To use others ports that needs OpenCV I compiled from sources using ports collection. For example, ffmpeg needs OpenCV so, I deinstall ffmpeg and OpenCV 2.4, install OpenCV 3.1 and rebuild/install ffmpeg from ports.
