Hi, I find a bug about nagios-plugins-2.1.1 I don't known if it's the freebsd-ports version or it's about the plugins himself. Anyway if you do a
check_http host where the host didn't answer but can be reach (apache not running) you get a Segmentation fault and a core dump. Easy to try check_http 127.0.0.1 Regards.
