net-im/finch is crashing on startup.

finch -nd or -d doesn't really help / show anything exciting.

How can I build finch and libpurple with DEBUG enabled when using
poudriere to build packages?

options are:
# This file is auto-generated by 'make config'.
# Options for libpurple-2.10.11
_OPTIONS_READ=libpurple-2.10.11
_FILE_COMPLETE_OPTIONS_LIST=BONJOUR DBUS GG GNUTLS GSTREAMER IDN IRC JABBER MSN

error is:
(15:13:54) g_log: purple_account_get_protocol_id: assertion 'account != NULL'
failed
(15:13:54) g_log: purple_plugins_find_with_id: assertion 'id != NULL' failed

and the last bit from the debug option:
(15:13:54) g_log: (Main) void setup_io(): setting up IO (8)

Also an error about jabber not working:
(15:13:54) plugins: probing /usr/local/lib/purple-2/libjabber.so
(15:13:54) plugins: /usr/local/lib/purple-2/libjabber.so is not usable because
the 'purple_init_plugin' symbol could not be found. Does the plugin call the
PURPLE_INIT_PLUGIN() macro?
(15:13:54) plugins: probing /usr/local/lib/purple-2/psychic.so

ideas? Talk to the pidgin forums?
