Recently, portmaster kept wanting to upgrade these three ports:

It succeeded in rebuilding them every time, but always saw them as needing to

The old versions were still installed, so each time an upgrade was performed
with portmaster, it saw the old version and reinstalled the new version.
After realizing this, it was easy enough to just pkg delete the old versions.
Is an entry in UPDATING needed for these, or should portmaster handle them
automatically?

Seeing this again with textproc/libmwaw. The new version is installed,
but the old version remains.
