FreeBSD 9.0 is not supported.  Upgrade to 9.1.

Did you also upgrade the entire ports tree, especially ports/Mk,
ports/Tools and related material?

Installation works properly for me here on 9.2.

I have libiconv-1.14_3 - probably unrelated, but a hint your ports tree
is not up to date if you claim to have reinstalled all requisites.
