It depends. I can not comment upon the quality of the ext2fs part of FreeBSD, but the linuxulator itself will not destroy anything. Theoretically it can be the case that a sloppy programmed (linux-)tool may destroy some data if it wants to use something which does not work, but in this case I would say it is the fault of the tool to not check for errors...
