I decided to try zabbix out and had to update the port: http://people.freebsd.org/~sat/diffs/zabbix113.diff
There are still a few todo items, like pgsql 8.1 schema patch. It seems that Sergey has been inactive for quite a while, though he did surface this October. If neither he, nor anyone else knowledgeable of zabbix, wish to maintain it, I'll consider taking it.
