I have not been able to come up with a working email address for the original author, and it doesn't look like it has been worked on in a long time. It's broken on AMD64 Linux alos (Ubuntu). If I find the time, I might look at this. I suspect the problem is fairly simple, and I have come to depend on thsi tool. Since the FreeBSD maintainer is listed as [EMAIL PROTECTED], I was hoping someone might be working on this already.
