I deleted all installed packages to clear up the mess, I've not worked up the nerve to play about with ports again but I do need to in the future as I have a few ports to submit + maintain.
Is it safe to mix ports and packages? I would like to use binary packages for the majority but I can see that I'm going to have to use ports for a couple of applications that I use that don't have binary packages.
