The DNS servers for pool.ntp.org area already geographical distance aware: ;; ANSWER SECTION: 0.pool.ntp.org. 1089 IN A 119.148.81.6 0.pool.ntp.org. 1089 IN A 202.60.94.11 0.pool.ntp.org. 1089 IN A 202.89.184.139 0.pool.ntp.org. 1089 IN A 203.161.129.2 0.pool.ntp.org. 1089 IN A 203.82.209.217 ;; ANSWER SECTION: au.pool.ntp.org. 1200 IN A 119.148.81.6 au.pool.ntp.org. 1200 IN A 202.125.43.135 au.pool.ntp.org. 1200 IN A 202.60.94.11 au.pool.ntp.org. 1200 IN A 203.161.129.2 au.pool.ntp.org. 1200 IN A 203.82.209.217 I've only sorted them for easier comparing, I haven't changed them. But as you can see, they both give the same.
