Good ideas - nice to have so many options. :) The gige is a trunk on a 24 port switch. Its not all that busy, less than fast ethernet speeds. (120Mb combined in/out aprox) I don't know if I mentioned this, but I was seeing 90+% interupt usage in top before I enabled "polling" in the kernel.
