It's Cisco's precursor to 802.1q trunking. It stands for something
like Inter-Switch Link. It's a jumbo ether packet with a vlan/color
header encapsulating the original ether frame.
Lots of small older Cisco switches have it. We could plug a FreeBSD
box into, say, a c1924 and have 24 virtual interfaces from the
router, each on its own vlan. :)
