Hi,
some days ago, I postet a question about strange fragementation needed
ICMP messages I found while capturing packets on a tun interface. See
<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> for the details.

After some additional digging, I started to capture packets on the
underlying ethernet interface. And I saw the "frag needed" messages
again. The big difference was that these messages were well-formed:
one of the routers of tmr.net told my system that my destination was
unreachable with the current packet size and that my box should frag
down to 1480 bytes.

I've just told tcpmssd to assume a MTU of 1450 bytes and will check
if this fixes the problems.

Any input or idea (or pointer where I should start to look) would be
appreciated.
