unzip(1) doesn't have a substitution command, so it is easier to stick with tar(1), and work-around the issue with FreeBSD < 11. > I'm working on a fix. Committed in r424173. Lesson learned: nothing is guaranteed to work uniformly across FreeBSD versions.
