Is there a reason for ppc(4) being only statically compiled in kernel driver ? It looks like it is trivial to modularize it. Some time ago I saw the thread about the ppc/acpi related troubles, that resolves into the acpi being the module, and ppc compiled into the kernel.
I propose to make the ppc module. Below is the Makefile that "works for me".
