please, try to clone your disk as described in the FAQ "9.2. How do I move my system over to my huge new disk?": http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/faq/disks.html#NEW-HUGE-DISK Following that advice results in a bootable clone of your disk.
