The files are checked into 4.x and probe correctly. the device crashes the system on use though.. My 4.x test box with such an interface has had a hardware failure and will be out of commision for a couple of days so if anyone wants to track down the problem feel free, but I'll be on it again as soon as the hardare is back (probably Tuesday).
