FreeBSD's nameserver is fine. The problem is the remote nameserver authorative for the domain in question. That nameserver is incorrectly returning SERVFAIL instead of NODATA (or possibly NXDOMAIN) for AAAA queries. Nothing needs to be fixed in FreeBSD's nameserver.
