I fixed the problem. I added following lines to /usr/src/sys/cam/scsi/scsi_da.c (FreeBSD-4.5RELEASE): /* Below a list of quirks for USB devices supported by umass. */ /* + * Fujitsu Siemens Memorybird + */ + {T_DIRECT, SIP_MEDIA_REMOVABLE, "Fujitsu", "Memorybird", "*"}, + /*quirks*/ DA_Q_NO_6_BYTE|DA_Q_NO_SYNC_CACHE + }, Maybe this is written in an unusual manner, but I'm an absolute newbie to freebsd and C.
